樂隊(duì)最早組建于1992年，樂隊(duì)成員均為大學(xué)畢業(yè)生，在校學(xué)習(xí)期間樂隊(duì)已初步形成。樂隊(duì)以成員共同喜歡的美國作家賽林格的同名暢銷小說《Catcher in the Rye》取名為：“麥田守望者”。
