好萊塢有子承父業(yè)的明星家族，而在電影音樂(lè)領(lǐng)域亦有薪火相傳的電影音樂(lè)家族－Newman（紐曼）家族，30年代的Alfred Newman一手雕塑好萊塢電影黃金年代（30－60年）經(jīng)典風(fēng)華，Alfred Newman的弟弟萊諾在60年代接下Alfred先前執(zhí)掌的福斯電影音樂(lè)部門(mén)，然后，Alfred的侄子Randy Newman則在70年代樹(shù)立美國(guó)式文采樂(lè)風(fēng)并且慢慢走進(jìn)電影音樂(lè)世界，Alfred的大兒子David Newman原來(lái)對(duì)指揮工作瘋狂熱愛(ài)，80年代末期才投入電影音樂(lè)圈，Alfred最小的兒子Thomas Newman則在80年代中期闖進(jìn)電影音樂(lè)領(lǐng)域。這一個(gè)音樂(lè)世家用音符照亮好萊塢，Alfred曾45度提名奧斯卡，9度奪獎(jiǎng)，完成《彗星美人》、《西部開(kāi)拓史》、《國(guó)際機(jī)場(chǎng)》……等225部左右的作品，連至今仍膾炙人口的福斯電影公司影片放映前的開(kāi)場(chǎng)序曲都是出自他手筆；Randy則以《媒體先鋒》、《玩具總動(dòng)員》、《蟲(chóng)蟲(chóng)危機(jī)》、《歡樂(lè)谷》12度入圍奧斯卡電影音樂(lè)或歌曲項(xiàng)目角逐；David身兼日舞影藝學(xué)院的音樂(lè)總監(jiān)，作過(guò)《玫瑰戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)》、《超級(jí)巨人》、《轟天奇兵》……等。
